Othello

I got the book Othello today in Lit. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Shakespeare; because I'm constantly stuck with "thou" "thee" and bazillion other exotic 16th century words. Plus, most of them are tragedies, and to be honest, the characters themselves are mostly no brainers. ( ex: Romeo) Othello, however, really catches my attention. Different from all the plays or acts I've heard or read before, Othello's main character Othello (duh..) is African. I'm totally not being racist or stereotypical, but I'm very excited to see what a mixed race marriage will bring to the table. So, starting from next week, I'll hopefully blog about my perspective and opinions on the book and to keep all of you updated. HAZAH~~ :)
